Time to go home... The building on the right is our hostel

VSM INSTITUTTE OF AEROSPACE ENGINEERING & TECHNOLOGY was created as a logical sequence to the VSM Aerospace AME training School; firstly because 70% of the courses for the B.Tech degree in Aerospace Engineering are already covered by the AME training; and secondly, to offer a University level education in other associated engineering disciplines.

As you can see, we are using two definitions on this page: aeronautical and aerospace engineering. Aerospace engineering is the branch of engineering behind the design, construction and science of aircraft and spacecraft. It is broken into two major and overlapping branches: aeronautical engineering and astronautical engineering. The former deals with craft that stay within Earth's atmosphere, and the latter deals with craft that operate outside of Earth's atmosphere. While "aeronautical" was the original term, the broader "aerospace" has superseded it in usage, as flight technology advanced to include craft operating in outer space. Aerospace engineering is often informally called "rocket science".

In July 2009, VSM INSTITUTTE OF AEROSPACE ENGINEERING & TECHNOLOGY became the REGIONAL TRAINING CENTRE for Aerospace Engineering for INDIRA GANDHI NATIONAL OPEN UNIVERSITY (IGNOU), SCHOOL OF ENGINEERING & TECHNOLOGY.

In this endeavour, we are happy and privileged to partner with IGNOU, undoubtedly the largest University on Earth. The Indira Gandhi National Open University was established by an Act of Parliament in 1985. Today, it serves the educational aspirations of about 1.5 million students in India and 35 countries abroad through 11 Schools of Studies and an elaborate network of 58 regional centres, 7 sub- regional centres, 1400 study centres, and 41 overseas centres.

We are the only Aerospace Engineering Training Centre in South India (other three being in Pune, Kolkata and New Delhi). Bangalore being the centrum for aerospace industry in India is a logical location for providing the well educated professional Human Resources for this strategically important industry in India, and we are honoured to be executors of this mandate.

Our Training Centre offers face-to-face, full time studies, where you will be sharing the knowledge of our very professional faculty members that have the real, hands on experience in addition to theoretical knowledge.

When you graduate from the four year programme with the degree of Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech. Aerospace Engineering), you will be well prepared to participate in exciting futuristic industry and science, working with aircraft or spacecraft or become an astronaut or go further to achieve your Master or Doctorate degree in universities in India or abroad.

Please download the study prospectus which contains detailed syllabus. This prospectus is supplied only for your general orientation. Please always consult with your course instructors who have the latest information.

Please see the Admission Details - VSM Institute & AME for the proper admission procedure and documentation for studies at VSM Insititute.

In parallel with the above IGNOU B.Tech Aerospace Engineering degree program, VSM also offers B.Tech. degree program in Aeronautical Engineering via AeSI. There are differences. On the one hand, AeSI is a professional body for registration of aerospace/aeronaurical engineers and after graduation from IGNOU program you still should register with AeSI (no exams needed). On the other hand, IGNOU program is deeper and richer than AeSI. Compare both programs and, depending on your interests, see what you want to choose.

Although not directly affiliated, the Institute works in conjunction with Aeronautical Society of India in New Delhi, to prepare students for AMAeSI examinations. Passing such examinations is equal to Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) degree in Aeronautical Engineering. Please note that as per AeSI policy, NO LEARNING INSTITUTION is affiliated with AeSI, but they can offer supporting education.

AeSI has no educational infrastructure of its own to prepare students for their examinations, while VSM Institute has teaching faculty with excellent professional and academic credentials, reputation as one of the top AME schools in India and South Asia, and fully equipped facilities to deliver a first class training and examination support.

You can study in parallel with your AME licencing courses, but you will study one year longer. We will guide you and advise you of everything you need to do. The materials included here are for your orientantion and preliminary guidance. If you choose to study with us, do not send any documentation to AeSI on your own. We have established protocol that will assure proper processing of all documentation exchanged with AeSI. We can only guarantee our processing protocol. Please see the Admission Details - VSM Institute & AME for the proper admission procedure and documentation for studies at VSM Insititute.

The documentation provided by AeSI is supplied only for your general orientation. Please always consult with your course instructors who have the latest information.

When you complete this syllabus, the AME syllabus, the practical training on campus and with our industry partners, and experience the AME licencing examinations - you will be the best prepared student to write the AMAeSI exams, because the amount of knowledge we pack into your brain exceeds the AMAeSI examinations rules.

JUST TELL US YOUR PLANS AND WE WILL GUIDE YOU AND HELP YOU WITH ALL OUR KNOWLEDGE OF THE INDUSTRY IN INDIA AND ABROAD.

As you can see, our classes are full - we really are very popular !!!

The Institute also acts as a Study Centre for Janardan Rai Nagar Rajasthan Vidyapeeth University in Pratap Nagar - Rajasthan, offering diploma and Bachelor degree courses in engineering branches that are complementary to our Aerospace background. You will be coached by the same excellent faculty professors that instruct the students in aeronautical studies.
That means, you can add to your AME a Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) degree in other disciplines besides Aeronautical for a fully rounded education, and go on to Master's and PhD degrees in India or abroad.

PLEASE NOTE that some top foreign universities will ask you to take a few courses with them PRIOR to admitting you to their Master degree programme. It all depends on your marks and direction of your desired studies - they do that to all prospective students regardless where they studied. So if you intend get a foreign Master degree, make sure your marks are around 90%. If you are in that category, are Agragami VSM Institute student or alumni, and need unbiased, free assistance for universities in Canada and USA, student visa, etc., please ask Agragami administration to put you in touch with our Canadian trustee.

If you intend to get professional affiliation with a foreign Engineering Association, you may have to pass their examination and have some working experience in the country. For example, to have the right to practice as Professional Engineer in the Province of Ontario, Canada, you need to be admitted to the Professional Engineers Ontario and pass their admission examinations. The same applies in other countries, so research the respective engineering associations. Usually, when you are admitted in one province or state in the country or a group of countries that have bilateral agreements to that effect, you will be admitted without additional examinations in another province/state/country.

WE WELCOME ALL PROSPECTIVE STUDENTS FROM ANYWHERE (see our Hostel facilities) to study at our Institute in the disciplines OUR FACULTY IS GOOD AT AS INSTRUCTORS.

PLEASE NOTE THAT JRN RAJASTHAN VIDYAPEETH UNIVERSITY IS FULLY ACCREDITED BY THE MINISTRY OF EDUCATION. THIS ACCREDITATION CAN BE CONFIRMED AT THE MINISTRY OF EDUCATION WEB SITE. Look for Rajasthan and scroll to listing #7.

Everyone knows about Einstein's theory of relativity E=mc2. Here is a down-to-Earth explanation of the theory by the great man himself:

"When you are courting a nice girl an hour seems like a second. When you sit on a red-hot cinder a second seems like an hour. That's relativity."

Albert Einstein - US (German-born) physicist (1879 - 1955)

An interesting note here: this Webmaster was mentored by Dr. Richard Post, one of the few great physicists still alive who worked with Albert Einstein. We almost cried with laughter when he recounted some of the comic situations created at the research labs.

A very important characteristic of great people is a well developed sense of humour, without which one can not survive the disappointments and rejections of new ideas. So cultivate your sense of humour - life is easier with it !

According to India Government Survey, 36% of scientists at NASA are Indians...

This is Russian SU-37, probably the most advanced military aircraft in existence today. It would cause NATO a lot of concerns if it would not be so expensive to build... about $350 million per plane. Still more advanced is SU-47 with forward wings, but it was cancelled due to its even higher cost.

Setting these little financial matters aside, this machine is an absolute masterpiece of aeronautical engineering. It has supermanoeuvrable pair of AL-37FU afterburning turbofans with axisymmetric, steerable nozzles and thrust vector control (TVC).
If you have fast enough Internet connection to view video, please see this video and others related. Turn up the speakers. Magnificent!!!

Incidentally, HAL manufactures SU-30 aircraft, that at first sight looks very much like SU-37, except for performance...

In the Vedic literature of India, there are many descriptions of flying machines that are generally called Vimanas.
